Best Overall: Glorious (Extended, XXL & XXXL)

- Excellent quality
- Multiple sizes available
- Machine washable
- Performs very well
- Logo position a little obtrusive
Tech Specs | |
Size: |
36″ x 11″ (Extended)
36″ x 18″ (XXL) 48″ x 24″ (XXXL) |
Thickness | 3mm |
Material | Soft |
Glide | Speed & control |
Size & Design
There are five different sizes of the Glorious pad, three of which are either extended or extra large. The extended model measures 36″ x 11″, the XXL model 36″ x 18″ and the XXXL is 48″ x 24″. This means there should be a perfect size for most people. But make sure you do some measuring before you buy as the XXXL model in particular is absolutely huge. The design of the mouse pad is plain black (some models are also available in white) and there is a small logo to the bottom right. Not the best logo placement to be honest, but it doesn’t really get in the way of your mouse.
Quality & Durability
The build quality of Glorious pad is really good. There is stitching around the edge – which in my opinion should be present on all mouse pads – and it does its job well. I haven’t found any occurrences of the pad coming apart. It is also machine washable so you don’t need to worry too much about any spillages.
Performance
Overall the Glorious pad performs really well and is suitable for most people. The surface is very smooth and provides a good balance between speed and control. Again the 3mm depth provides the balance between being too thick and too thin. But if you’re looking for something with a bit more comfort you might want to check out the Reflex Lab Pro 36 Heavy . The glorious pads have great tracking and shouldn’t cause a problem with any type of mouse. You might find the pad is a little wavy to start with but it should smooth out after a few days.

Best Budget: Cmhoo XXL

- Good quality
- Great value for money
- Performs well
- Quite thin at only 2mm
- Strong chemical smell to begin with
Tech Specs | |
Size: | 35.4″ x 15.7″ |
Thickness | 2mm |
Material | Soft |
Glide | Speed & control |
Size & Design
The size of the Cmhoo XXL is 35.4″ x 15.7″. This is pretty much in between the Glorious extended and XXL pads. Quite large for a budget mouse pad of this quality. There are 25 different designs available ranging from plain colors to various different maps. Keep in mind that the maps aren’t very detailed and you probably won’t be able to make out a lot of the writing. Often, images online will overplay the vibrancy of colors but the colors on the Cmhoo really do live up to what you see in the picture.
Quality & Durability
For such a low cost mouse pad, the Cmhoo is surprisingly durable. Like our top pick, the Glorious pads, the edges off the Cmhoo are stitched to prevent fraying.
Performance
Obviosuly, the performance of the Cmhoo isn’t quite on the same level as a higher end pad like the Glorious. But it certainly doesn’t perform badly. It is only 2mm thick so won’t provide the same comfort as some pads, but then again some people prefer a thinner pad. The surface is nice and smooth and for the most part, tracking problems aren’t an issue. However, some people have found the pads with designs on them to cause the occasional mouse skip so you might want to consider choosing a plain color.
Note: The Cmhoo mouse pad is known to give off quite a strong chemical smell from the manufacturing process. Most people have found that smell disappears after a week or so.

Best Comfort: Reflex Lab Pro 36 Heavy

- Very good quality
- 5mm thickness provides great comfort
- Multiple sizes & colors available
- Waterproof
- Minor problems with the stitching
Tech Specs | |
Size: |
36″ x 12″ (Heavy)
36″ x 18″ (Tall Heavy) |
Thickness | 5mm |
Material | Soft |
Glide | Speed & control |
Size & Design
There are two sizes available for the Reflex Lab extended mouse pads. The Pro 36 Heavy measure in at 36″ x 12″ and the Pro 36 Tall Heavy is a little larger measuring 36″ x 18″. The mouse pad is plain black with the logo printed in the top left. This is nice to see as some pads like the Glorious have the logo at the bottom right which can be a little obtrusive. The color of the stitching is available in black, white, red, blue and green.
Quality & Durability
The durability and quality of the Reflex Lab pad is pretty good but not quite perfect. The extra thickness certainly helps with durability (as well as comfort), and the edges are stitched to hold the pad together. However, some people have found the stitching isn’t all that great and there is some fraying. This doesn’t seem to effect the durability too much but can be a little uncomfortable to rest your arm on. And it doesn’t exactly look too good. But other than that, the Reflex Lab extended mouse pads hold up pretty well. Oh yeah, and it’s waterproof. So you don’t need to worry too much about spillages.
Performance
One of the best things about the Reflex Lab Heavy pads is the 5mm thickness. This adds an extra layer of comfort and it really is a dream to use. The added depth is also a bonus if you have a slightly uneven surface as it will cancel out the imperfections. The pad has a nice and smooth surface but has a little bite to it making for a good balance between speed and control. As expected from a higher quality mouse pad, you shouldn’t have tracking issues with any mice.

Best Control: Dechanic Control (Extended, XXL & XXXL)

- Very good quality
- Textured surface means good control
- Available in multiple sizes & thicknesses
- Machine washable
- Some users found fraying on the stitches
Tech Specs | |
Size: |
36″ x 12″ (Extended)
36″ x 18″ (XXL) 36″ x 24″ (XXXL) |
Thickness | 3mm or 6mm |
Material | Soft |
Glide | Control |
Size & Design
There are three extended/XXL options to choose from with the Dechanic Control. The extended pad measures in at 36″ x 12″, the XXL pad is 36″ x 18″ and the XXXL pad is 36″ x 24″. There are various smaller sizes available too. The mouse pad itself is plain black with various color option for the stitching: black, blue, green, red and yellow. The Dechanic logo is at the bottom left of the pad so shouldn’t get in the way for right-handers. It may be a little obtrusive for left-handers though, but it’s not a deal breaker. Along with the standard 3mm version, the Dechanic control is available as a heavier, 6mm pad.
Quality & Durability
The build quality of the Dechanic control is excellent and it is really durable. Especially the 6mm version. It’s machine washable so no need to worry about spillages. The stitching around the edge keeps the pad together but some people have noticed a few loose threads, so it may not have the best stitching. This is an issue we have found with a few of the mouse pads, but to be honest it isn’t that much of a big deal.
Performance
As the name suggest, the Dechanic Control is designed for maximum control over speed. This means the surface has more of a texture to it to create a little bit of friction. So your mouse won’t glide quite as freely. Because the surface isn’t as smooth as others, it isn’t the most comfortable to use, but it isn’t uncomfortable by any means. The tracking on the Dechanic mouse pads is excellent and is suitable for all mice.
Dechanic also do a speed version of this pad. It is pretty much the same but has a much smoother surface which favours speed over control. You can find it on Amazon here .
